Hello. I’m Meera and this is my spoon. It was my mothers until recently – if you look closer you’ll see it’s missing a chunk in the middle. That bit’s been lost somewhere between 1975 and today amid the first and perhaps the 5000th meal she cooked for us.
She cooked day in day out, fresh, tasty, simple and home cooked Indian food using recipes passed down from generations and ingredients grown in Lincolnshire, where I grew up.
She gave me the spoon on my last birthday, passed it on, like a baton. And I’m here to use it to help rid the world of a lot of over-stewed curry of varying shades of brown – by sharing with you, right here, all our recipes.
